Introduction:

The simulation of rotating fluid flows has many important applications in nature as
well as in industrial environments. The rotating cavity problem (enclosed cylinder with a rotating cover) was selected as a test problem to validate numerical simulations of laminar shear-driven flows with centrifugal pumping. Laser doppler anemometry data from [2], as referenced in [1], are reported for a cylinder with a unity aspect ratio (L/R) and a tip speed Reynolds number of 1800.

如果是自己写的程序,做这样的验证计算就更有意义了。用这个计算来验证Fluent的层流,而且计算空间比较简单,当然应该取得不错的结果,否则,Fluent还怎么在商业软件里混啊。

如果是比较复杂的流场,或者是湍流,能取得这样的精确度,那这个软件就牛大了。对于比较复杂的流场,有个20-30%的误差已经是不错的计算结果了。
